Walls of Wonder

Winter Wonderland has been an annual event in Hyde Park since 2007. Rather than documenting the merriment and joy within, this photographic project peers curiously from the outside, studying the walls that form both physical and metaphorical barriers in a space designated for leisure and joy.

Beyond the aesthetics of celebration, this project delves deeper into the persuasive architecture of such spaces. It examines how Winter Wonderland, like many other theme parks, is meticulously designed to stimulate consumption and commercial engagement. Through this exploration, the project presents an alternative view of the much-celebrated Winter Wonderland.
